In a world full of cookie cutter conforming country artists Ryan Slice truly flies his own flag. Influenced from an early age by the likes of Hank Jr., Dwight Yokam, and the 90’s country sound. Coupling that with impact of hearing John Prine Ryan quickly began to develop a unique sound. His combination of honky tonk, americana and blues rock keeps his listeners lovingly on their toes. Ryan Slice was born in Chapin S.C. and learned about Honky Tonkin’ at an early age. Fell in love with music and lifestyle spending his weekends at the local bar (before breweries so don’t judge) with his parents every weekend. Taking in everything he could from the bands he saw play at Boot’s Place. He knew from the age of 7 that’s what he was going to do with his life. Ryan played college baseball and then he decided to join the Army at 22. He luckily got stationed in Savannah, Georgia and still to this day call that his ‘home’. Ryan was deployed to Baghdad in 2007 for 15 months and since his return has been chasing that Honky Tonk dream ever since. Countless times people say real country is dead, but if you give Mr. Slice a listen one can’t help but think there is still a flickering flame left.
