Strange Kids is a music project created by Josh Balz and Jake Simons. With influences ranging all across the spectrum of electronic music, Balz and Simons chose to combine each others polarizing taste in music to create a sound that is dark, thought-provoking and full of sonic textures.
 Balz, a Pennsylvania native, already had an extensive history as a successful touring musician. With his keyboard contributions in the successful band Motionless in White, Balz already established himself as a talented force in both live performance and melodic hooks. After his departure from the band, Balz took time to focus on himself and discover a new voice through music. In doing so, Simons, also a Pennsylvania native, joined Balz to help establish this new voice.
 Simons was a classically trained pianists as a child. He eventually departed from his classical roots and began experimenting with different genres in his early teenage years where he discovered influences such as Radiohead, Bjork and countless UK TripHop artists. Balz became friends with Simons through their association with successful lifestyle brand Blackcraft Cult.
 With very different backgrounds in music, their first attempted songwriting session resulted in their first single "Wind Me Up" which has developed a very favorable cult following with little to no promotion. Due to the unexpected success of this first released track, Balz and Simons chose to embrace this new voice.
